Review the Stone Before Planning Production

Custom Jewelry Manufacturing With Customer-Supplied Stones

Already have the center stone for a customer's piece? Send its details with the proposed design for individual review. Chuk Yip Company assesses the project requirements before stone handling and manufacturing arrangements are confirmed.

Submit Center-Stone Details

Can I provide my own center stone for a custom jewelry project?

Customer-supplied center-stone projects can be reviewed individually by Chuk Yip Company. Send the stone type, actual dimensions, available photographs and proposed jewelry design first. Stone condition, setting requirements, manufacturing feasibility and handling arrangements must be confirmed for the specific project. An inquiry does not establish stone acceptance or permission to ship it.

Identify whether the stone is loose or currently set, and distinguish measured details from estimates. Include the intended gold choice, ring size where relevant, and the design features that matter to your customer. Additional information may be required before a decision can be made. Contact Chuk Yip before arranging any shipment, and confirm the relevant project and commercial details, including quantity, pricing and expected production timing, before manufacturing approval.

Who this service is for

This service is for jewelry trade clients bringing a particular center stone to a proposed custom project. Independent jewelers, designers and small brands can submit a brief around a natural diamond, lab-grown diamond or colored gemstone, with acceptance and suitability determined individually.

Information to provide before arrangements are made

  • Your company and contact details.
  • Stone type and whether the center stone is loose or currently set.
  • Actual length, width and depth; clearly identify unavailable or estimated measurements.
  • Shape, carat weight if known, and available stone documentation.
  • Photographs showing the stone from useful angles.
  • Known condition information and any relevant setting concerns.
  • CAD or references, gold choice, ring size and intended setting requirements.
  • Quantity, target timing and any handling questions that need resolution.

Send information for review first. Shipment destination, acceptance and handling arrangements must be confirmed directly for the project.

Manufacturing around a selected center stone

Confirmed custom project capabilities include 14K and 18K yellow, white and rose gold jewelry, engagement rings, and custom gemstone jewelry. Natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds and colored gemstones may be submitted as proposed center stones for review. This does not mean every stone, condition or setting request can be accepted.

Keep the stone record and the design aligned

Use one clear identifier for the stone in your inquiry and related design notes. If the measurements change or a different stone is proposed, flag that change before approving the manufacturing specification.

If the stone is currently set, state which information is available and which cannot yet be confirmed. Do not treat a photograph, a carat weight or a previous design as a substitute for the details required for the new project. The next step depends on the review of the actual situation.

Questions about customer-supplied center stones

Should I send the stone with my initial inquiry?

No. Send the available stone details, photographs and design requirements for review first, and contact Chuk Yip before arranging shipment. Acceptance, handling and shipping arrangements need project-specific confirmation. An initial inquiry, a design discussion or a request for a quote does not itself establish permission to send a stone.

What if I do not have the stone's depth measurement?

State that the depth is unavailable and provide the measurements and photographs you do have. Do not substitute an estimate without identifying it as such. The project review will establish what additional information is needed to assess the intended setting. Manufacturing cannot be assumed confirmed while relevant stone specifications remain unresolved.

Can CAD be reviewed around an existing center stone?

Yes. CAD and reference designs can be reviewed together with the actual center-stone information. Send the current design version, dimensions, ring size, metal and setting requirements. Any needed development or changes require project-specific assessment. The stone's suitability and the handling arrangements must also be confirmed before the manufacturing project proceeds.

Are insurance and liability arrangements included automatically?

No insurance or liability arrangement should be assumed from a website inquiry or design review. Raise your questions directly with Chuk Yip and confirm the relevant terms for the specific project before arranging a shipment or approving work. Stone acceptance, handling requirements and commercial details must be established individually rather than inferred from this service description.
